Project Vatsalya - Malnutrition

Nutrition provided to malnourished children under “Project Vatsalya”.

SuryaShobhaVandana foundation has been working for a long time in the field of providing nutrition from malnutrition under “Project Vatsalya”. SSV Foundation also organizes medical camps everywhere to make Gujarat free from malnutrition. We have gotten a positive direction under Project Vatsalya in the field of providing nutrition from malnutrition with your cooperation.

Suposhan Abhiyaan campaign has been started under “Project Vatsalya” by SuryaShobhaVandana Foundation. From the screening and survey conducted by the organization, 70 children were found to be malnourished. The organization then took up a campaign to make these 70 malnourished children free from malnutrition. For proper diagnosis of malnourished children, a total of six camps were conducted and their follow-up was checked-up.

Malnourished children were diagnosed through six camps for six weeks.

The first camp was organized by the Institute at Municipal School No.7-8, New Vasana on Sunday 24/09/2023. In which 70 malnourished adopted children were checked-up by the doctor and given medicine. More than 200 parents of malnourished children came and treated the children in the camp. To make these children completely nourished, the children were diagnosed as malnourished by taking follow-up for six consecutive weeks. In the first camp, MLA of Ellisbridge Legislative Assembly Mr. Amitbhai Shah, Ahmedabad Nagar Primary Education Committee Chairman Dr. Sujaybhai Mehta, Chairman, Indian Pharmacy Council. Montubhai Patel along with councilors of Vasana ward were present.

Details of malnutrition treatment
1.Screening
  • Screening of children by going to settlements at ground level.
  • To check the weight, height and Mid Upper Arm Circumerence (MUAC) of children and record them and know whether they are malnourished or not.
2.Camp
  • Keeping six camps for six weeks and providing necessary medicine and nutrition.
  • To sensitize the parents of the child through counseling about the seriousness of malnutrition.
3.Treatment
  • Check the child’s weight, height and Mid Upper Arm Circumerence (MUAC) by the doctor and give treatment.
  • Giving proper nutrition and medicines.
4.Follow-up
  • Giving treatment considering the child’s weight, height and Mid Upper Arm Circumerence (MUAC).
  • Giving proper nutrition and medicines.
